Our story
Hi, we’re Sammie and Jorge — the hearts behind Waltzing Willow. We’ve built this space from a shared love of animals and a deep belief in quiet care. For us, it started long before we knew what it would become. Over the years, we’ve rescued, fostered, bottle-fed, and loved more animals than we can count — each one reminding us that even the softest beginnings can grow into something lasting.
Our journey has taken us across states, across heartbreaks, across thresholds we never saw coming. But always, side by side. Waltzing Willow is the story we’ve been writing together all along; a rhythm of rescue, companionship, and the kind of devotion that doesn’t need to be loud to be felt.
At home, it’s us — my momma, four cats, one dog, and a dream that keeps evolving.
We start each day with coffee for Jorge, tea for me (yes, Sammie is the hidden voice behind the words), and wagging tails — and end it feeling lucky to be trusted with what matters most. This work isn’t our job — it’s a piece of our life, woven right in with muddy paws and quiet evenings.
Over the past year and a half, we’ve said goodbye to four of our beloved animals — each one a piece of our heart. The photo beside this text holds two of them, and their presence is part of this space, always.
Our goal has never been to grow fast. It’s to grow right. To build something steady, something kind — a place where animals feel safe, and humans feel heard.
